HLB International Since 2009, HLB Belgium and its legal entities have been members of HLB International (HLBI). Previous to that, they were linked internationally to the association Praxity. The transition towards HLBI is closely tied to the strategy of HLB Belgium to develop into a strong client-oriented and high-quality organisation. Via HLBI, on the one hand, the opportunity is offered to develop close international contacts, exchange experiences and ‘good practices’, and set up an international exchange programme among young professionals, while on the other - and in particular - access is provided to documentation and practical guidelines to enable HLB Belgium to prepare for the international evolutions that will continue to exert an ongoing impact upon the provision of our services, today and tomorrow. And, finally, as of the moment of its admission, HLB Belgium was accepted as Principal Firm, which entitles it to one seat on the HLBI Board of Directors and offers it the opportunity to contribute to the group’s future policy.
HLBI is a worldwide network of offices of accountants, auditors, tax consultants, and business advisors, all of them operating independently. HLBI has a workforce of 12,076 professionals spread over 447 offices in more than 100 countries. HLBI is a member of the Forum of Firms, which operates under the direct supervision of the IFAC (International Federation of Accountants). Being a member of the Forum of Firms implies voluntary compliance with a number of rules, amongst which the requirement to submit at least once every three years to an international quality control, as well as accept the requirement that contributions be made towards improving the standards on international audit practices on behalf of the users of these services. According to the most recent world survey published in the International Accounting Bulletin of January 2010, HLBI currently occupies 12th position in the world ranking. |
